Afternoon in Solitude Poster
This is my humble rendition of "Afternoon in Pardigon". I decided to paint this particular image because this is the one that started my fascination and admiration of Henri-Edmond Cross' work. I was absolutely taken by his brushwork and use of color.
In this piece I attempted to convey a sense of peace or solitude in nature. The use of bright colors can evoke different emotions, such as joy, warmth, or excitement. The scene itself—trees by the water—suggests a quiet, reflective moment. But the intense colors tell us that even in solitude, there’s a lot of life and energy around us, even if we don't always notice it.
I hope you enjoy my modest rendition as much as I enjoyed painting it.
